PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Areg Galstyan said that hydropower plants might be able to secure 20% of the entire energy produced in Armenia by 2020.

“We managed to double the hydro energy production in Armenia during the past year, bringing it to 10% of the entire energy produced in the country,” Galstyan said in his remarks during the presentation of a new project of Norwegian Norsk Energy company and Hydroenergetica company.

Galstyan added that Norway’s experience is significant - almost 90% of energy consumed in the country is produced by hydropower plants.
