HSBC chairman appointed UK minister of state for trade and investment

PanARMENIAN.Net - HSBC PLC said its chairman Stephen Green has been appointed as Britain's minister of state for trade and investment.

The government said on Tuesday that Green will leave the company and take up the new position early next year.

Prime Minister David Cameron said Green will make an "invaluable contribution" to driving economic growth in Britain as the government seeks to open new trade links, promote British business overseas and maximize inward investment, AP reported.

Green, 61, served as HSBC's chief executive from 2003 to 2006.
