Belarusian entrepreneurs arrived in Armenia with offers

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian-Belarusian business forum kicked off in Yerevan on December 2.

“Representatives of 12 Belarusian companies from various fields arrived in Armenia with certain offers,” Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vasily Romanov said in his opening remarks.

According to him, large-scale modernization of industrial capacity requires additional investments. Moreover, Belarus is ready to provide free trade zone, privileges and preferences to foreign investors.

Chairman of the Armenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Martin Sargsyan noted for his part that the acting normative-legal basis between the two countries creates the required prerequisites for boosting relations in small and medium business, exchanging business information, as well as using the available potential.

“The Armenian-Belarusian business forum will give new impetus to the bilateral relations development. It is evident that we can develop our economies only through joint efforts,” he said.

Sargsyan added that ArBe Trade House is opened and efficiently operates on Armenia’s territory. Besides, there are joint Armenian-Belarusian enterprises.

The trade turnover between the two countries amounted to USD 29.317mln during 10 months of 2010. The share of export from Armenia makes around USD 3mln, while import is USD 26mln.

Armenia exports juices, jewelry, glass containers and brandy to Belarus, importing trucks, tractors, medicines, furniture, paper, sweeties, etc.
