Armenian parliament speaker urges to address agriculture problemsApril 5, 2011 - 16:59 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian parliamentary speaker Hovik Abrahamyan presented his vision for solution of problems in agriculture. During a parliament hearing, Abrahamyan stressed the necessity of expanding farmers' lands, provision of long-term credits at low rates, financing of land cultivation in the regions with unfavourable climatic conditions, funding of seed-growing and livestock breeding entities, establishment of minimal cost for a range of agriculture products. As Abrahamyan noted, the abovementioned points were stipulated by 2008-2012 National Program for Agriculture Development and said he is surprised that these haven't been implemented yet. “We need to discuss current situation and provide specific solutions for the issues indicated,” he said.
