Armenian Transport Minister, FIA President discuss road safetyApril 20, 2011 - 18:19 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Minister of Transport and Communication Manuk Vardanyan received President of Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) Jean Todt. The FIA President said his visit is aimed at familiarizing himself with problems of road safety and developing joint solutions for their elimination, the press service of the RA Ministry of Transport reported. Todt said that concepts for increasing road safety are planned to be developed and introduced worldwide. Vardanyan briefed the FIA President on significant works carried out in Armenia over the past two years to increase road safety. Specifically, he pointed to creation of the National Council on Traffic Safety, as well as introduction of mandatory vehicle insurance in the country.
