Xocali.net attacked by Azerbaijani hackersJuly 16, 2010 - 16:03 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The server of Xocali.net (www.xocali.net) has been subjected to hackers' massive attack for three days. Large-scale DDoS attack initiated by Azerbaijanis has resulted in interruptions in the site's operation, Initiative for Xenophobia Prevention organization told PanARMENIAN.Net The massive attack on Xocali.net site has started as soon as new materials disclosing the falsifications of the Azerbaijani propaganda machine were posted. "The attack's scale proves that Azerbaijani propagandists are ready to take radical steps, up to violation of law, in an attempt to hide the truth about the events in Aghdam. However, the situation is controlled by our specialists," the organization's statement reads. Besides, the attempts aimed at stealing the domain name of xocali.net through restoration of its password and sending of Trojan viruses to e-mail of the domain name's owners have not stopped up till now. Simultaneously, various minor DDoS attacks have been organized. Persons responsible for propaganda in Azerbaijan applied to hackers through media, urging them to attack www.xocali.net, thus, violating the country's laws, the statement reads. Xocali.net project's website, which was presented on February 24, 2010, provides evidences of falsification and forgery used by the Azerbaijani propaganda machine in its information war with Armenia.Major part of the site's visitors is from Europe, Russia and Azerbaijan. Information about the site's launch was sent to Azerbaijani state institutions, media and NGOs, resulting in growth in the number of Azerbaijani visitors.
