Synopsys Armenia included among 12 finalists for Secretary of State's Award for Corporate Excellence

PanARMENIAN.Net - Synopsys Armenia was included among 12 finalists for the Secretary of State's Award for Corporate Excellence.

Since 1999, the Department of State has used the ACE to recognize American companies who are global leaders in corporate social responsibility. U.S. businesses are nominated by embassies on every continent. This year U.S. ambassadors submitted 78 nominations among which 12 companies were selected as finalists.

“Just being nominated was a great honor for us. The focus on the nomination is our corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy,” Synopsys Armenia CEO Rich Goldman told PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

“The things that we do here in Armenia for CSR are the reflection of our corporate values everywhere in the world. We know that we can make a difference in Armenia, whereas somewhere like China it’s much more difficult to make a difference. What we do here can have a bigger impact on this country than almost anywhere else we‘re operating. That’s why Armenia is very important for us,” Goldman said.

“We have many activities in CSR in Armenia and they were all entered into nomination. But the focus was on education. Our partnership with the universities here and the government enables high tech education at the university level.”

“It’s really a very unique partnership. This methodology is being adopted in 6 different countries of this region. Our objective was to train workforce that would be ready to work for Synopsys. The semiconductor sphere is much too fast for the universities to keep up with, but Synopsys is at the very leading edge of this industry. We renew curriculum every year to make sure that it’s up to date, and there’s no university in the world that can do this,” Synopsys Armenia CEO concluded.
