Ucom ready to launch alternative fixed telephony services

PanARMENIAN.Net - Ucom completed testing alternative fixed telephony services and is ready to launch operations.

As Ucom executive director Hayk Yesayan stated at the opening of company headquarters in Yerevan, “Orange Armenia–Ucom interconnect agreement, signed this week, will allow for free communication between Ucom subscribers.”

Calls from Orange network numbers to Ucom fixed telephone numbers will be provided at AMD 35 per minute on the territory of Yerevan to be later extended to other regions of Ucom coverage.

However, as the head of ArmenTel PR department Anush Beghloyan told PanARMENIAN.Net additional technical conditions have not been coordinated in the course of negotiations. Ucom-ArmenTel negotiations on interconnect are in progress.
