Orange Armenia plans 30% increase in 3G network capacity

PanARMENIAN.Net - “No increase in the number of connection quality –related complaints has been observed,” company representative stated.

Orange Armenia CEO Bruno Duthoit announced the company’s intention to increase in 3G network capacity by 30%.

Meanwhile, media reported dramatic slump in Orange-provided internet capacity (20Kbps instead of 7Mbps announced by the company).

As Mr. Duthoit told a news conference in Yerevan, certain users may have technical issues, however, as a whole, the network is functioning stably. “We provide our subscribers with an opportunity of 2-week modem trial before making the final purchase. The increase in the number of subscribers over the last months of 2010 proves we don’t have connection-related problems,” Mr. Duthoit noted.

As Orange Armenia pres secretary Lilit Martirosyan stated in a conversation with PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, no increase in the number of connection quality –related complaints has been observed. “Compensation is offered in case connection issues are verified by company’s technical assistance staff,” Ms. Martorosyan said.

As of November 2010, Orange Armenia subscribers’ number is estimated at 45 thousand. The company’s 3G network provides internet access to 93% of Armenia’s population.
