New Android-based HTC Merge to go on sale in spring 2011

PanARMENIAN.Net - HTC has officially announced that the all new HTC Merge is slated to be available through various North American carriers in spring 2011.

The new smartphone is said to be the company’s first Android-based CDMA world phone. The HTC Merge is powered by the Android 2.2 OS and integrates HTC Sense for a better user experience. It sports a 3.8” touchscreen display along with a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard for making typing an easier activity. The handset allow users to instantly access and view updates from social networking websites like Facebook, Twitter and Flickr via the HTC FriendStream.

“HTC prides itself on creating unique solutions that meet the needs of different customers, and with features like a full keyboard and global 3G roaming, the HTC Merge smartphone is the perfect example of this commitment,” expressed Jason Mackenzie, president, HTC Americas.

This smartphone jackets a 5MP AF and flash-enabled camera for photography enthusiasts to capture those special moments. This is coupled with the ability to shoot HD 720p videos too. The various connectivity options offered by the phone include GPS support, Wi-Fi, 3G and more. It also features Exchange ActiveSync accommodation, while users can seamlessly benefit from the Android Market which host over 1,00,000 apps to its credit.

Official details regarding its pricing and the carriers who will be shipping the HTC Merge have not been made public yet, Mobiletor reports.
