Minesweeper Robot competition results to be summarized in Armenia in fall

PanARMENIAN.Net - The acceptance of applications for Minesweeper Robot competition was launched on February 28.

Karen Vardanyan, the CEO of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE), the organizer of the event, told a press conference that the competition is organized through a governmental financing, while its finals will be held in fall.

Vardanyan also referred to Line Tracking Robot and Object Identifying and Classifying Robot competitions that will be held as part of ArmRobotiX on March 4 and 5 in Yerevan.

VivaCell-MTS company will be the general sponsor of the competition. General Manager of the company Ralph Yirikian said that cooperation with UITE is aimed at showing that Armenia’s youth is able to bring the field to an international level.

“The field needs to be developed in our country, resulting in development of sub-fields,” said Yirikian.

Other events are also planned to be held as part of ArmRobotics in 2011.
