Page in support of hunger striker Raffi Hovannisian

PanARMENIAN.Net - A page named “Hungry for Change: Freedom and Justice in Armenia” in support of Heritage opposition party leader, hunger striker Raffi Hovannisian was launched on Facebook social network.

124 users have already joined the campaign. The information regarding the hunger initiative is posted on the webpage.

Hovannisian spent the night of March 16 at the verge of Liberty Square. He was not allowed to put up a tent in the square. “It’s a ground for children,” police said.

As to his health state, Heritage parliamentary group leader Stepan Safaryan said no doctor has visited Hovannisian yet. “Presently, his health said is fill us with apprehension but we are hopeful that a doctor true to Hippocratic Oath will visit him,” he said.

During the extraordinary congress of Heritage on March 15, Hovannisian urged Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan to resign and thus to ensure fair and independent elections in the country. He also announced the start of “Hungry for Change: Freedom and Justice in Armenia” hunger strike and promised to coordinate his future steps with the party members.
