Livejournal subjected to DDoS hack attackApril 4, 2011 - 20:49 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Today, the Russian network of famous Livejournal.com blog was subjected to a DDoS hack attack, Lenta.ru reported. This has been a second major attack on LJ during this year. The head of Livejournal Russia, Svetlana Ivannikova confirmed that the network isn’t available because of a DDoS hack attack. LJ network is also popular among Armenian bloggers. As a popular Armenian blogger, Samvel Martirosyan told PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, there are two versions of the incident. “According to the first version, the attack is aimed against Russian opposition bloggers. The other opinion is that the attack was meant to destroy LJ as the network became a platform for the Russian opposition,” the blogger said. Martirosyan, however, believes that the attack may be a power test for cyber troops, who attacked the network in an attempt to destroy the stored archives. The blogger is unsure whether the troops were Russian. “And as an ordinary blogger, I’ll just wait for the LJ work to resume,” Martirosyan said.
