ANC member advises RPA candidate to face him at debatesApril 16, 2012 - 16:44 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Parliamentary candidate from Armenian National Congress (ANC) and editor-in-chief of Haykakan Zhamanak paper reiterated his challenge to his rival in N 7 constituency Samvel Alexanyan for political debates. “Let’s face each other. Samvel, you shouldn’t hide behind the backs of women,” Nikol Pashinyan said commenting on the incident with ANC representatives in Yerevan community of Malatia-Sebastia (N7 electoral district). In this context, he noted with irony that “debates are not related to import of sugar, fake vodka production and cheating the consumer.” Candidates of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) running for the parliament by majority system were attacked in the 7th constituency in Yerevan on April 15. According to the ANC press service, ANC’s candidate by proportional system Babken Galoyan was injured, candidates Gayane Arustamyan and Zoya Tadevosyan were also assaulted. ANC blames notorious tycoon RPA candidate Samvel Alexanyan who is nominated in the 7th constituency, for the attack. Parliamentary elections, due in Armenia on May 6, feature 8 political parties, Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), Prosperous Armenia, ARF Dashnaktsutyun (ARFD), Orinats Yerkir, Heritage, Democratic Party of Armenia (DPA), Communist Party of Armenia and United Armenian party, as well as one election bloc represented by opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC).
