ARFD may double presence in parliament – party head

PanARMENIAN.Net - If 25-30 MPs from ARF Dashnaktutyun make it to National Assembly’s 5th convocation, the party is likely to gain majority, party leader said.

According to Vahan Hovhannisyan, ARF Dashnaktutyun MPs demonstrated more active participation at parliament’s 4th convocation than the representatives of other parties comprising the majority.

“We have serous chances to double our presence in parliament,” Mr. Hovhannisyan said.

Dwelling on ARF Dashnaktutyun’s activity in case it doesn’t gain the desired number of votes, the party head said, “perhaps, my forecasts are unsound, and the nation won’t vote for us. Any surprises can be expected in case of free elections.”

He further said that it is impossible to make forecasts over public sympathy for parties due to impossibility to name the polls conducted in Armenia effective.

“Any election frauds by the Central Electoral Commission in favor of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia are sure to spark wave of discontent,” Mr. Hovhannisyan concluded.
