Russian expert: Armenian, Azeri leaders ready for Putin’s mediation

PanARMENIAN.Net - The informal summit of CIS heads of state may foster the Nagorno Karabakh conflict dialogue, a member of the expert council of the State Duma Committee for CIS Affairs said.

“The format of an informal summit enables to approximate positions of Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan. Both Serzh Sargysan and Ilham Aliyev stand ready for Vladimir Putin’s mediatory mission,” RIA Novosti quoted Innokenty Adyasov as saying.

The CIS informal summit is underway in Moscow on May 15. It will feature discussion of member-countries’ joining the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC). Sources say that Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited all CIS heads of state to discuss the situation within the organization.
