AZERBAIJAN AFRAID TO SPOIL RELATIONS WITH NATO IF IT HAMPERS ARRIVAL OF ARMENIAN MILITARY TO BAKU AGAIN

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan is ready to receive the delegation of the Armenian military in Baku for participation in a recurrent conference on planning of the coming Cooperative Best Effort-2004 NATO exercises, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Araz Azimov stated, Regnum news agency reported. "One should not spoil relations with the NATO because of a few Armenians," he said, noting that participation of Armenians in the conference is one of the conditions of its organizers. "We understand the negative response of the Azeri society to the possible arrival of the Armenian military in Baku, however, one should not exaggerate the event," A. Azimov said. It should be noted that the conference on planning of the maneuvers will be held in Baku June 22. It should also be reminded that the NATO leadership has notified the Armenian party that the documents necessary for entry to Baku can be obtained from the Azeri Embassy in Georgia June 16. Meanwhile, according to Regnum, the Azeri Embassy in Tbilisi knows nothing about the forthcoming arrival of the servicemen from Yerevan yet.
