Biometric passports to be available on June 1

PanARMENIAN.Net - New identity cards and biometric passports will be put into circulation starting June 1, head of Passport and Visa Department at Armenia’s Police said.

“Receipt of identify card and biometric passport will cost AMD 3000 and 25 000 respectively. Current passports will also remain in circulation,” Hovhannes Kocharyan said, adding that use of biometric passports will facilitate visa receipt process.

The new passports will include fingerprint information, photo and signature, with marital status and military service information to be added upon request.
