EC President Herman Van Rompuy to travel to Armenia in near future

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with EU Special Representative for South Caucasus Philippe Lefort.

At the meeting, the parties noted significant progress in Armenia-EU ties, also stressing the importance of mutual visits and political dialogue between the sides.

In this connection, the Armenian leader and EU Special Representative referred to the visit of the President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy, who is expected to travel to Armenia in near future.

Mr Lefort went on to congratulate the Armenian leader on successful May 6 parliamentary polls.

He stressed EU interest in development of Armenia and South Caucasus, expressing hope to contribute to strengthening of trust between regional states, presidential press service reported.
