French envoy visits Erebuni Fortress in YerevanJune 23, 2012 - 19:32 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On June 23, French ambassador to Armenia Henri Reynaud accompanied by Armenian Deputy Minister of Culture Arev Samuelyan and Embassy Advisor on Cultural and Cooperation Issues Jean-Paul Martin visited Erebuni Fortress in Yerevan. Armenian-French program on archaeological excavation, planned for 2012-2015, is financed by Erebuni Historical & Archaeological Museum-Reserve in partnership with France’s Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Culture. In conversation with the French envoy, RA Deputy Minister of Culture stressed the importance of Erebuni Fortress for Yerevan, underscoring the need to develop a new approach in presenting the archaeological monument to the public. The museum director Gagik Gyurjyan in turn noted that an exhibition titled “Erebuni before and now” is planned.
