Syrian Armenians can get passports in RA diplomatic outposts

PanARMENIAN.Net - On July 26, Armenian government introduced amendments to the earlier decision, enabling Syrian citizens of Armenian descent to receive passports in diplomatic institutions.

As RA Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan noted, under current legislation foreign citizens must receive passports for the first time in Armenian Police Passport and Visa Department. The amendments will enable them in separate cases to obtain passports in consulates and embassies.

“In this case citizens of Syria and Lebanon may get passports in diplomatic institutions,” she said.

In this context, Ms. Hakobyan said that thousands of citizens of these countries have already submitted applications, which will significantly facilitate the procedure.
