All-star “Cloud Atlas” international trailer released (video) July 26, 2012 - 16:56 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Shortly after unleashing a host of new stills, "Cloud Atlas" premieres its first international trailer. The 5-minute promotional video is studded with various scenes revolving around several different characters in some different ages. There are scenes that take place in ancient days, modern days and even the future, AceShowbiz said. Screenwriter Lana Wachowski has explained that each actor plays multiple roles in the kaleidoscopic tale. "We thought about these individual characters as aspects of larger characters. Their lives are interwoven over one big story that takes place over a thousand years," so Wachowski told Entertainment Weekly. "Cloud Atlas" follows the stories of some people in different settings. They include a reluctant voyager who crosses the Pacific in 1850, and a disinherited composer who has a precarious livelihood in between-the-wars Belgium. A high-minded journalist in Governor Reagan's California, a vanity publisher fleeing his gangland creditors, a genetically modified "dinery server" on death-row, and a young Pacific Islander witnessing the nightfall of science and civilization are the other characters involved in the storyline. Serving behind the lens are Tom Tykwer as well as Andy and Lana Wachowski, who also wrote the script based on a 2004 novel by David Mitchell. The movie is supported by the likes of Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Hugh Grant, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Ben Whishaw, Susan Sarandon, Jim Broadbent, Keith David, David Gyasi, and James D'Arcy. "Cloud Atlas" will be dropped in the U.S. on October 26. Top stories The creative crew of the Public TV had chosen 13-year-old Malena as a participant of this year's contest.
