U.S. envoy to Azerbaijan: Karabakh settlement will benefit both parties![]() August 17, 2012 - 18:56 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Newly appointed U.S. ambassador to Azerbaijan Richard Morningstar has voiced confidence for the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement to benefit both parties, 1news.az reported citing Voice of America. During a meeting at United States - Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce (USACC) , the envoy briefed on energy security and areas of cooperation in the Caspian region. “The U.S. pursues balanced policy in the region. America’s energy is more complex and multidirectional in the region,” he said, stressing Nabucco pipeline’s role for Azerbaijani energy diversification. The U.S. Senate confirmed Richard Morningstar as ambassador to Azerbaijan on June 30. Partner news Azerbaijan fired over 1000 shots from various caliber weapons towards Karabakh positions, NKR defense army’s press service said. President Sahakyan stressed the combat readiness of Artsakh defense among key factors in the country’s security and state building. “The above mentioned NGOs’ participation in the forum is only possible as a part of Azerbaijani delegation,” ANP said.
