Georgia will flirt with Russia, but won’t go back under its influence- expert

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russia shouldn’t hope that Bidzina Ivanishvili’s coming to power will bring Georgia back under its influence, Armenian political expert says.

“Georgians won’t change their political orientation, Neither Saakashvili, nor Ivanishvili will bring Georgia back to the field of Russian orientation. Instead, Georgia will flirt with Russia to ameliorate bilateral relations,” Levon Shirinyan told a press conference, adding that Georgia has no intention to abandon its pro-Western policy.

According to the expert, Georgia will “name a price” for normalization of ties with Russia, with the latter hardly to make any concessions in terms of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

“Russian political elite has traditionally pursued Georgia-oriented policy,” he said.
