Armenia, Guatemala agree to deepen cooperation

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met with his Guatemalan counterpart Harold Caballeros, RA MFA press office reported.

The top Guatemalan diplomat noted that little progress had been recorded since establishment of relations, expressing readiness to discuss steps aiming to develop ties with Armenia.

Minister Nalbandian, in turn, voiced confidence that the existing vast potential will contribute to the development of political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries.

The ministers further reached an agreement envisaging establishment of a legal framework, conduction of consultations between the two countries’ foreign ministries, deepening of cooperation in international organizations, stepping up business ties, as well as cultural exchange between the two countries.

The two men further focused on Guatemala’s membership in the UN Security Council, with RA minister briefing Caballeros on Armenia’s key foreign policy trends and Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement.
