Armenia hosts freight damage claims meeting![]() November 5, 2012 - 13:25 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On November 5, the participants of the Tsaghkadzor-hosted claim meeting to review contentious cases for cargo damages started their work. Representatives from the railway administrations of the CIS, Baltic countries and Georgia are among the participants of the meeting, with 80 delegates to participate. The meeting will consider claims for compensation for damaged freight that cause disputes between the railways of the aforementioned countries. At the end of the meeting the Board of Arbitrators will take decisions unconditionally executable by railway administrations. Since 1997 the claim meetings of representatives from railway administrations of the CIS, Baltic countries and Georgia have been held twice a year. South Caucasus Railway (SCR) CJSC first held the claim meeting in 2010, the company’s press service reported. Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision. Kerobyan has said that for the first time in the history of Armenia, the volume of foreign direct investments amounted to about $1 billion. Partner news |
