Paper: Prosperous Armenia leader’s decision helped ANC

PanARMENIAN.Net - Political expert Edgar Vardanyan said Prosperous Armenia leader Gagik Tsarukyan’s decision not to run for president will help the Armenian National Congress (ANC) opposition bloc to maintain its positions in political arena, 168 Zham daily reported.

“Meanwhile, Tsarukyan’s joining the presidential race might have caused spilt within the bloc, with some members willing to support the ANC leader,” he said.

Asked if Prosperous Armenia leader’s decision may increase Levon Ter-Petrossian’s chances, the expert noted the opposition candidate will enjoy greater success after he joins the team in charge of the election coordination, the paper says.
