Alexander Studenikin appointed chief of CSTO Joint Staff![]() December 19, 2012 - 12:28 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) Nikolai Bordyuzha has confirmed the appointment of Russian Lieutenant-General Alexander Studenikin as Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff. The decision has been made at a Moscow-hosted joint meeting of the CSTO Defense and Foreign Ministers and Security Council Secretaries, Russian media reported. The CSTO Joint Staff, set up on January 1, 2004 is responsible for drafting proposals and acting on decisions on the organization’s military component. ![]() ![]() The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington. The CSTO budget for the current year requires adjustments due to the refusal of Yerevan to pay their share of contributions. Six total incidents have burned 19 old-growth trees.
