SCR reports 5.8% cargo volume growth in Jan-Nov 2012

PanARMENIAN.Net - Cargo transportation volume of South Caucasian Railway (SCR) amounted to 3153.1 thousand tons in January-November 2012, increasing by 5.8% as compared with the same period of 2011, SCR press service reported.

The export by rail reached 445.6 thousand tons of cargo in January-November, growing by 9%.

The average weight of a freight train increased by 4% to total 1448 tons against last year’s 1392 tons.

The railway gradually boosts its key performance indicators, including the volume of freight traffic. Improving the reliability of the railway infrastructure has reduced the delivery time, improving the reliability of transportation and reducing the risk of cargo loss or damage.
