Russian presence in Karabakh process 'cools down hotheads'

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russia, along with France and the U.S., is an important mediator in the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said.

As President Sargsyan said in interview with Kommersant newspaper, 1994 armistice was concluded only due to the Russian mediation.

“Big hopes were linked to the recent Russian mediation, however, Azerbaijan hampered the progress, continuously offering new amendments to the already agreed document. I am grateful to Russian leadership for the consistent contribution to the solution to conflict. I am confident that its mere presence in the negotiation process significantly cools down many hotheads,” President Sargsyan said.
