Ter-Petrossian hints at new ANC-based partyFebruary 7, 2013 - 16:07 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The leader of Armenian National Congress opposition bloc, first president of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrossian confessed that ANC is on the brink of extinction, as he’s taking every effort to give the Congress one more chance. As Ter-Petrossian told Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun daily, he takes some forces’ leaving the Congress in its stride, considering altered expectations, political agenda and tasks. “All of the above-mentioned demands new organizational decisions, with creation of a new party capable of offering a solution,” ANC leader said. As he noted, the ideology of Social Liberalism will become a foundation for the new party, which will aim at achieving a balance between liberal economy system and satisfying social needs of people with limited state control. “I’ll spare no effort to form a party and turn it into the most influential political force in the country. I’ll be honored to be given a chance to lead it, even if symbolically; I’ll be responsibly performing my duties,” Ter-Petrossian concluded.
