CCAF may join work on France’s new Genocide bill

PanARMENIAN.Net - Leaders of the Coordination Council of Armenian organizations of France (CCAF) Mourad Papazian and Ara Toranian will possibly get involved in the work on the new bill criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial, submitted to the French parliament on Feb 11.

According to independent journalist Jean Eckian, the format of involvement of CCAF representatives has not been specified yet.

The draft law, based on the article criminalizing denial of genocides and war crimes adopted by the European Parliament, was again initiated by French MP Valerie Boyer, Nouvelles d`Armenie reported. The bill envisages a 45,000 euro fine and a year in prison for denial of genocide.
