Baku urges EU to activate involvement in Karabakh issue

PanARMENIAN.Net - Head of the Department on Social Political Issues at Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Ali Hasanov has urged Brussels to activate involvement in Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement and contribute to establishment of peace in the South Caucasus region.

“The EU is currently represented in the OSCE Minsk Group by France. But we think that in the future the EU should consider having its own special representative in the Minsk Group, which will in turn, help strengthen its position on this regional conflict. Though France represents the EU in the Minsk Group, this is only one country. So we really expect more active influence of the EU on this matter. We believe it impossible to talk about full security of Europe without proper peace in the South Caucasus,” Hasanov said in interview with New Europe newspaper.
