  Oskanian to top Prosperous Armenia’s list at Yerevan City Council polls March 9, 2013 - 19:24 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Former foreign minister of Armenia Vartan Oskanian will top Prosperous Armenia party’s list during Yerevan City Council elections, the party’s parliamentary group secretary Naira Zohrabyan said. She further voiced the party’s readiness to continue discussions with other parties to form political consolidation. It’s noteworthy that Prosperous Armenia took the decision on running in the elections with a separate list at March 9 political council meeting. The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), Orinats Yerkir and Prosperous Armenia have so far announced a decision to run in the polls, with Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan to top RPA’s list. Yerevan City Council elections are due May 5. Dwelling on the hike in gas prices, Iskandaryan said the change also affected other countries importing Russian gas. Armen Martirosyan noted that the price rise will further deteriorate the situation in the country, fostering emigration. In this connection, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian left for Strasbourg to attend CoE foreign ministers meeting.
