French politicians set up friendship circle with Artsakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - A group of French MPs, former MPs and representatives of French city administrations set up a friendship circle with Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic.

“Stressing the importance of peoples’ right to self-determination and the necessity to establish peace and stability in the South Caucasus region, as well as the need to assist OSCE Minsk Group in the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict, welcoming the steps of Karabakh people and authorities, aimed at the formation and development of free democratic society, we, politicians, MPs and senators of France announce a decision to establish a friendship circle with Artsakh,” the statement, adopted on March 19, reads.

First Deputy Mayor of Marseille, former MP Roland Blum, MP Valérie Boyer, the initiator of the bill criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial, François Rochebloine, René Rouquet, Senators Sophie Joissains and Philippe Marini, former MPs Georges Colombier and others signed the statement.

The initiators called on their colleagues to join the statement, Public Television of Armenia reported.
