Working group to develop Armenia Social Investment Fund strategy

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian deputy prime minister Armen Gevorgyan met on March 29 with the head of World Bank social investment project Ivan Drabek and senior operations officer Naira Melkumyan, with director of Armenia Social Investment Fund Ashot Kirakosyan present.

The development prospects of the fund, further operation models and mechanisms were discussed, with vice prime minister noting assistance in the reform implementation of the IT sector, as well as development of the communities discussed. He said the discussion of the initiatives targeting communities allows for the communities’ direct involvement in the implementation of the projects.

An agreement was further reached to set up an inter-ministerial working group for the development of the strategy of Social Investment Fund, with the deputy prime minister welcoming involvement of World Bank experts in the project.
