Public official offers to replace anti-hail stations with protective nets

PanARMENIAN.Net - The head of Agrarian-Peasant Union of Armenia Hrachya Berberyan offers to replace the anti-hail stations with a special protective net.

HrachyaBerberyan noted that Europe currently refuses to install anti-hail stations operating with acetylene, with propan butan having come to replace the material in Armenia.

He linked the installation of the stations to the close relations between the community leaders and the anti-hail operation service.

The union head further noted that the use of the protective net, produced in Italy, was earlier discussed with the leader of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Galust Sahakyan.

“The net protects both from hailstorm and frost. Moreover, only euro 2500 will be spent for the coverage of 1 hectare crop, whereas the price of one anti-hail station totals USD 30 000. The nets should be distributed among the farmers who will be able to cover the price for the coming 15 years,” he said.
