Late actor Heath Ledger’s "The Dark Knight" diary lands online (video)

PanARMENIAN.Net - Late actor Heath Ledger left a diary in which he scribbled down his ideas and drew illustrations for his memorable portrayal of Joker in "The Dark Knight". A clip from German documentary series "Too Young to Die" sees the Australian actor's father narrating as he opens each page of the diary, titled "The Joker" on the cover, AceShowbiz said.

"In order to inhabit his character, he locked himself up in a hotel room for weeks," Kim Ledger says of his son, who died at the age of 28 from an accidental prescription drug overdose. He then continues, "He would do that. He liked to dive into his characters, but this time he really took it up a notch."

Kim turns through page after page of the journal until a certain page which talks about the hospital scene stops him. "The hospital scene is interesting because when he was a kid, his sister Kate liked to dress him up as a nurse," he recalls. "He was really funny like that. He also was in the movie."

Previewing a glimpse of an Academy Award on the table, the video captures the most emotional moment for Kim as he sees Heath's last words "BYE BYE" scrawled on the last page of the diary. "It was hard to see this," he admits.

Heath was found dead in his New York apartment on January 22, 2008, months before the release of "The Dark Knight".
