James Cameron announces “Avatar” original novel

PanARMENIAN.Net - Avatar has spawned a series of original novels that will take place around the events of the movie, Digital Spy said.

Director James Cameron has hired Jumper author Steven Charles Gould to pen four books set in the world of Pandora.

Cameron had originally planned to write an official Avatar novel himself, but is currently at work on three proposed sequels to his 2009 blockbuster.

"Steven Gould is one of the shining lights in contemporary science fiction, and I've long admired the worlds and characters he's created in his books and stories," Cameron said.

"We're very fortunate to have Steven bring his formidable talents to the Avatar universe. He is already working closely with me and the screenwriters to flesh out the expanding world of Avatar."

The first of the proposed Avatar sequels is scheduled to arrive in theatres in December 2016, with subsequent instalments landing a year apart.
