Armenian dies in Aleppo air strike

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian-born Gevorg Poghosyan, 47 died in an air strike by President Bashar al-Assad's forces on Aleppo, PERIO NEWS Facebook page reported.

Before the war, there were 80,000 Armenians living in Syria, most of them in Aleppo. When hostilities broke out, 10,000 people fled to Armenia while 5,000 settled in neighboring Lebanon.

120,000 people have been killed in the fighting that has ravaged Syria for two-and-a-half years, according to the UN.
