Ben Kingsley joins Robert Pattinson in “Life” period drama

PanARMENIAN.Net - Ben Kingsley has joined the cast of Anton Corbijn’s period drama “Life,” opposite Robert Pattinson and Dane DeHaan, Variety said.

Shooting started in Toronto on the film, produced by See-Saw Films and First Generation Films, with Corbijn directing from a script by Luke Davies (“Candy”). The film also stars Alessandra Mastronardi.

The story centers on the friendship that developed between photographer Dennis Stock (Pattinson) and actor James Dean (DeHaan) when Stock was commissioned to photograph the actor for Life magazine in 1955. The assignment took the pair on a photographic journey from Los Angeles to New York and on to Indiana.

Kingsley will portray studio mogul Jack Warner.

Producers are See-Saw Films’ Iain Canning and Emile Sherman with Christina Piovesan of First Generation Films and is co-produced by Wolfgang Mueller and Benito Mueller of Barry Films. The film is financed by Corner Piece Capital, LLC,Telefilm Canada, Film4, Screen Australia, Michel Merkt and Union Bank, N.A.

FilmNation Entertainment is handling international sales.
