Adam Sandler, Drew Barrymore to get CinemaCon Stars of the Year Award

PanARMENIAN.Net - Adam Sandler will receive CinemaCon's Male Star of the Year Award at the upcoming convention of theater owners in Las Vegas, while Drew Barrymore will be recognized with the corresponding Female Star of the Year Award, The Hollywood Reporter said.

The top honors will be bestowed during CinemaCon's final-night awards banquet. The show runs March 24-27 at Caesars Palace, where Hollywood studios will travel to trumpet their summer lineups.

Barrymore and Sandler reteam for the third time in Warner Bros.' upcoming summer comedy Blended, playing single parents who go on a disastrous first date -- only to later find their families stuck together at a luxurious African safari resort.

Sandler and Barrymore's first two collaborations were The Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates.

A number of other luminaries will also be feted at CinemaCon, including Ivan Reitman (Lifetime Achievement Award), Kevin Costner (Icon Award), Andy Serkis (Vanguard Award), Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (Comedy Filmmakers of the Year), Shailene Woodley (Female Star of Tomorrow) and Chadwick Bosman (Male Star of Tomorrow).

Several awards have yet to be announced.
