“Goodbye for Now” romance-drama to get film treatment at Lionsgate

PanARMENIAN.Net - Lionsgate has hired director Sandy Widyanata for the movie adaptation of romance-drama “Goodbye for Now”, Variety reported.

“Twilight” producers Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen are producing through their Temple Hill banner.

“Goodby for Now,” based on Laurie Frankel’s novel and published by Doubleday, centers on a computer genius who invents a way for people to e-mail loved ones who have passed on. When he unexpectedly loses the woman he loves, he must face his own creation to keep her close or lose her forever.

The adaptation was written by Jessica Goldberg. Jonathan Tropper is currently rewriting.

“Goodbye for Now” is Widyanata’s first feature directorial gig. Her credits include working on special effects in “Project M.I.C.K.,” “The Container” and “Plastic.”

Temple Hill also produced “The Fault in Our Stars” and “The Maze Runner.”
