PanARMENIAN.Net - As they continue to blaze the comeback trail, The Vaccines have been confirmed as third headliners for this year's Liverpool Sound City festival, Gigwise reports.

Joining The Flaming Lips and Belle & Sebastian at the top of the bill, the band will top the bill at the Merseryside showcase for the best new music this summer.

Also added to the bill are Roni Size Reprazent, Thurston Moore, Gaz Coombes, Fucked Up, Evian Christ, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Sean Lennon's The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger, Dum Dum Girls, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Stealing Sheep, Dutch Uncles, Slaves, All We Are, Jane Weaver, Dave McCabe & The Ramifications, The Serpent Power, Bad Breeding, Apes, and Single Mothers.

"We promised a massive and credible line-up this year and we delivered" said Sound City CEO Dave Pichilingi. "The Vaccines, The Flaming Lips and Belle & Sebastian will play to an audience of thousands in one of the coolest cities in the world on the banks of the River Mersey in the unique setting of our brand new Docklands home. It does not get much better than that."

He continued: "Add to that literally hundreds of the best and brightest acts from around the world who will join them on the bill. We are so excited about the endless possibilities of our new festival home. It means we can offer so much more than just a live music festival. We can immerse our audience in an amazing setting with the best backdrop in the world and give them a totally fantastic experience.

"There will be non-stop entertainment, parties and a bag full of surprises. Each day will end with a massive spectacle as we head into our headline artists and party on until the early hours of the morning."

Meanwhile, The Vaccines will be playing a string of UK shows in March and April, kicking off in Nottingham on 27 March and ending in London on 8 April, via Hartlepool, Glasgow, Scunthorpe, Portsmouth and more.
