David Lynch returns to "Twin Peaks" revival at Showtime

PanARMENIAN.Net - David Lynch is reviving "Twin Peaks" after all. The filmmaker announced the news in a Twitter post sent out on Friday, May 15, writing, "Dear Twitter Friends, the rumors are not what they seem ..... It is !!! Happening again."

Showtime later confirmed Lynch's return while promising that the show would offer more than the original plan of nine episodes. "This damn fine cup of coffee from Mark and David tastes more delicious than ever," David Nevins said in a statement, according to AceShowbiz.

"Totally worth the extra brewing time and the cup is even bigger than we expected. David will direct the whole thing which will total more than the originally announced nine hours. Preproduction starts now!!" he added.

The news comes a month after Lynch announced his departure from the "Twin Peaks" revival due to salary dispute. Originally on board to direct the project, he said back then that there was "not enough money offered to do the script the way I felt needed to be done."

Now that the reboot is really happening, original cast members including Kyle MacLachlan, Sheryl Lee, Dana Ashbook and Sherilyn Fenn are expected to reprise their roles.
