The film stars Salma Hayek, Vincent Cassel, John C. Reilly, Toby Jones, Shirley Henderson, Hayley Carmichael, Bebe Cave and Alba Rohrwacher.

“Tale of Tales,” Garrone’s first English language film, had its world premiere in competition at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. Garrone previously won two Jury Prizes at Cannes.

Inspired by the fairytales of Giambattista Basile, the film weaves together stories of the Queen of Longtrellis’ quest to have a child, two mysterious sisters who provoke the passion of the King of Strongcliff, and the King of Highhills’ obsession with his pet flea.

In addition to the deal on “Tale of Tales” at Cannes this year, IFC Films also acquired U.S. rights to Fernando León de Aranoa’s “A Perfect Day,” starring Benicio del Toro and Tim Robbins.

The company’s film “Dheepan,” from director Jacques Audiard, was awarded the Palme d’Or at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.

The deal was negotiated by Arianna Bocco from Sundance Selects/IFC Films with Thorsten Schumacher at Hanway Films on behalf of the filmmakers.
