Rashida Jones-produced “Hot Girls Wanted” Sundance doc trailer (video) May 30, 2015 - 10:43 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - “Every day, a new girl turns 18,” says talent agent Riley in the trailer for “Hot Girls Wanted.” The “talent” Riley scouts are 18-to-21-year-old “teenyboppers,” whom he introduces to the amateur porn industry, TheWrap reports. The stunning documentary reveals the dark side of the subgenre, detailing how barely-legal women are recruited into uncomfortable and compromising situations. These women, lured by fast money and the promise of freedom through Craig’s List ads, are groomed into performers who very recently had been high school cheerleaders or were considered Daddy’s little girl. As stated in the trailer, the shelf life of an amateur porn star in the best case scenario is a year. Though it is professionally cast and produced like its professional counterpart, amateur porn is shot to appear as homemade movies with fresh faces. Once an actress loses her amateur status, she is no longer considered for bookings. “Hot Girls Wanted” shows just how easy it is for an everyday young adult to become tangled in the porn industry, as well as how dangerous it can be. As told from the perspective of some amateur porn stars and Riley, the women face physical and psychological abuse, health concerns and public criticism. The documentary was produced by Rashida Jones (“Parks and Recreation”). Jill Bauer and Ronna Gradus directed. It received favorable reviews following its debut at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival. “Hot Girls Wanted” is streaming now on Netflix.
