PanARMENIAN.Net - The first trailer for Shakespeare adaptation "Macbeth" has been released. The movie is full of murder scenes as it centers on Michael Fassbender's titular character, a Scottish lord-turned-traitor who will ambitiously do anything to become a king, AceShowbiz reports.

The trailer opens with Macbeth (Fassbender) fighting with other warriors in a battlefield. Macbeth who is obsessed to seize the throne sneaks up on the King's tent with a dagger. It continues with the scenes where Macbeth and his wife (Marion Cotillard) are crowned as king and queen.

According to the official synopsis, "Macbeth is the story of a fearless warrior and inspiring leader brought low by ambition and desire. A thrilling interpretation of the dramatic realities of the times and a reimagining of what wartime must have been like for one of Shakespeare's most famous and compelling characters, a story of all-consuming passion and ambition set in war torn 11th Century Scotland."

"Macbeth" is filmed in the actual Scottish highlands where all of these murders and battles toward the thrones are taking place. Fassbender and Cotillard lead the cast which includes Paddy Considine, David Thewlis, Sean Harris, Jack Reynor and Elizabeth Debicki. Justin Kurzel serves behind the lens while Iain Canning and Emile Sherman produce the movie. It is scheduled for a U.K. release on October 2.
