Facebook rolls out new photo sharing appJune 16, 2015 - 10:51 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - When you meet up with friends and family at events, lots of photos tend to be taken - but you rarely see them all. Facebook has developed a new companion app called Moments to combat this issue, using facial recognition technology to share photos with those pictured privately, Digital Spy reports. The recognition technology - which is the same solution used on Facebook already for suggested tags - goes through the camera roll to find familiar faces and sync the photos to them. "You can then privately sync those photos quickly and easily with specific friends, and they can choose to sync their photos with you as well. Now, you and your friends have all the photos you took together," Facebook explained. The photos will then be added to that person's own synced collection if they have the app. If they don't have Moments installed, they'll receive a notification on Facebook Messenger. The app - which was rumoured last September - is available starting from June 15 for iOS and Android in the U.S. only initially, but will roll out to more countries soon.
