BlackBerry Android smartphone tipped for AugustJune 20, 2015 - 18:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - BlackBerry's rumoured Android smartphone could be little more than a month away as the latest reports suggest it is coming in August. The device will be a budget handset, with Google innards, based on the BlackBerry Z3 and codenamed Prague, Digital Spy reports citing PhoneArena. It was previously claimed that the Canadian company wants to combine Android with its trademark QWERTY keyboard, but the Z3 is an all-touch device. However, the latest report also mentioned another BlackBerry device that could potentially run Android, codenamed Venice. The Venice is said to sport a 5.4-inch curved QHD display and a six-core Snapdragon 808 chip, making it a high-end handset. The firm has already dabbled in cross-platform products with the launch of its BES12 enterprise mobility management software, which is compatible with iOS, Android, Windows and BlackBerry devices. BlackBerry was once a major player in the customer smartphone world, but now has a global market share of less than 1%.
